Chinese New Year Clothes
Red is the color of chinese new year celebrations. Chinese New Year Recipes
Holidays, events, festivals and celebrations calls for lots of get-together and feast for all. Arrangements and dining table decoration is must. Traditional food recipes are special menu item for the people. On the chinese new year eve, you get different delicious food, desserts and recipes. Famous chinese new year recipes are Streamed Dumplings, Sesame Chicken, Spicy Pork, Chinese Salad, Egg Foo Yung, Chicken Lo Mein, Chinese New Year Turnip Cake, Pork Dumplings, Chinese Tea Leaf Eggs, Asian Orange Chicken and lots more.
Ingredients:
1) Chinese cabbage - 3 stalks.
2) Scallions - 2.
3) Soy sauce - 1 tbsp.
4) Salt - 1 tsp.
5) Cornstarch - 1 tbsp.
6) Pork - 1 lb., lean and grounded.
7) Dumpling wrappers.
8) Sm. fresh cilantro or parsley leaves
Instructions:
First chop the Chinese cabbage and scallions. Put them in a mixing bowl and the soy sauce, salt, cornstarch, and pork. Mix well with a spoon. Drop 1 teaspoon filling on each wrapper. Fold the wrappers into half circles and moisten its inner edges with water. Press to seal the wrappers. Pour 2 quarts of water in a large pot and bring to a boil. Drop in the dumplings and cover. Pour in a cup of cold water when the water starts boiling again. Repeat this step two more times. When the water boils for the third time, the dumplings will be done. Mix 1/4 cup soy sauce with 2 tablespoons white vinegar. Serve your steamed dumplings with the gravy.
