Eid Al-Adha Holiday: NOV 7 is Regular holiday Palace Announced

President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III has declared November 7 a National holiday, in celebration of the Eid Al-Adha Holidays or the the Feast of Sacrifice.

Eid'l Adha, one of the two greatest feasts of Islam, shall be celebrated as a holiday.

Eid Al-Adha Celebrated by Muslims worldwide, Eid'l Adha is an important religious holiday that commemorates the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son Ishmael for Allah.

The Islamic event is usually celebrated for at least three days in Arab and Muslim countries.

This means Filipinos will have two long weekends in November 2011. October 31 (Monday) and November 01 (Tuesday) are already special non-working holidays.
