Sunday, October 16, 2011: SMarvin onsona returns
MARVIN Sonsona proved he still has the magic touch that made him a world champion, after a 10-round unanimous decision victory over tough Mexican Carlos Jacobo last Saturday night at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City.

Although Sonsona didn’t look as fast as he used to be, he still had the vicious uppercuts and the crisp jabs that were his main arsenal. The sport fanatic former World Boxing Organization super flyweight king was aggressive in the first three rounds and landed some devastating combinations.

“I didn’t feel the same. I felt slow. Maybe in two to three more fights then I’ll be back. I felt that it was like 50 percent of what I used to be,” said Sonsona.
Sonsona improved to 15-1-1 with 12 knockouts.
