Football at the 2011 Southeast Asian Games

The association football tournament at the 2011 Southeast Asian Games will take place from 3 to 21 November 2011. This edition of the tournament will only have a men's tournament and will be played by U-23 (under 23 years old) national teams. All matches will take place in Jakarta with the exception of the gold medal match which will be held in Palembang.

The men’s tournament will be played in three venues in two cities. Jakarta will have the 88,083-capacity Gelora Bung Karno Stadium and Lebak Bulus Stadium that can accommodate 25, 000 soccer fans. In Palembang, the Gelora Sriwijiya Stadium can seat a total of 40,000 spectators.

The 11 men’s football national teams are divided into two brackets with a single-round robin of fixtures in their respective brackets. The top two teams for each brackets will have a cross-over fixture with the winners playing for the gold medal match on November 21. The losing teams in the semifinal round will vie for the bronze medal. The SEA Games 2011 men’s football live streams will be shown on Indonesia’s Media Nusantra Citra and other media outfits around Southeast Asia.

The 11 nations are bracketed into two groups – Group A and Group B. Group A will be composed of Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Cambodia. Vietnam, Laos, Brunei, Timor-Leste, Myanmar and Philippines compose Group B. The SEA Games 2011 men’s football schedules will be played on West Indonesian Time (WIB) - UTC+7 and these are as follows:
