Daiana Menezes and Director GB Sampedro (NPPA Images)Director GB Sampedro is all set to ask for girlfriend Daiana Menezes’ hand in marriage in accordance with the traditional Filipino custom of “pamamanhikan” when he meets her parents in Brazil next month. But he said that he and his fiancée have not yet set a wedding date.
“We’re just enjoying the situation. Bata pa naman si Daiana,” GB told a group of writers after the press conference for Viva’s “All for 1” concert featuring Martin Nievera and the Side A band. GB is the director of the concert, which Martin and Side A members say will turn the Smart Araneta Coliseum into “one big bar” on November 11. It will also kick off Viva’s 30th anniversary celebration.
GB, who is 11 years older than the 23-year-old Daiana, said that their age gap has never been a source of conflict in their relationship of less than a year. “Sa lahat naman ng relasyon, kailangan ng adjustment,” explained GB. Besides, he GB said that he’s bent on making a long-term commitment, “Kasi galing ako sa (marriage) annulment. Marami na akong bagyong pinagdaanan. Dapat manahimik na ako.”
